Apart from a socio-economic analysis, the mid-term evaluation focused on the assessment of relevance and coherence of the strategy of the ESF programme of Saxony in the programming period 2000-2006, its effectiveness, efficiency and impact and on the quality of the implementation and monitoring arrangements. On this basis, recommendations for the necessary adaptation on structural, strategic and implementation level of the ESF programme were elaborated.
