For the first time, a comparative analysis of all supporting mechanisms for disadvantaged young people in the transition process from the general education system to vocational education and training (VET) with reference to effectiveness and efficiency of these instruments was conducted in the Free State of Saxony. The coherent methodological concept highlighted the contribution of different support schemes to the integration of young people in the VET-system on basis of representative surveys among headmasters, teachers, students and enterprises.
